Why The Right Time Health Centers Offer Free Birth Control
We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to pursue the future they want.
At The Right Time, our mission is simple: empower individuals to take control of their own health by improving information about, and removing barriers to, quality contraceptive services. We partner with existing health centers across Missouri—some are Planned Parenthood locations, some are located in hospitals, still others are local health centers. Partnering with health centers allows patients nearby access to find the birth control of their choice for free or at a low-cost.
But maybe you’ve wondered, why is it free? How can birth control be given away for free?
The answer is as simple as our mission. We believe anyone who wants birth control should be able to get the method that is right for them. But the truth is, it’s too expensive for many people. Many students, young parents, those who don’t have insurance or are underinsured, and folks experiencing joblessness or homelessness may not be able to afford birth control. Too often, those who could not afford birth control would have to simply go without it or choose an inexpensive method that may not be their method of choice, which would only add to the challenges they face taking care of themselves and their families or planning for their futures.
As part of Missouri Foundation for Health's efforts to promote the health and well-being of Missouri residents, The Right Time health centers offer free birth control because we believe it’s a tool that can benefit so many people, and those benefits should be accessible to everyone, not just those who can afford it.
Your future is your future. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to pursue the future they want. We also are committed to addressing persistent health disparities in access to contraceptives services. If you’d like to learn more about how birth control can help you get where you’re going, make an appointment to talk to a provider today.
