4 Things You Can Do to Celebrate Women’s Health Week

Don't forget to check in on your mental health.
Ready for Women’s Health Week (May 10-16)? It’s the perfect time to check in with yourself and take a few small steps that can make a big difference in your health. Here are four small ways you can take care of yourself this month, and for answers to your specific questions about your reproductive health, make an appointment to talk to a provider at your nearest The Right Time health center.
- Schedule your annual primary care visit. National Women’s Checkup Day (May 11) is a great reminder to call your primary care provider, OBGYN, or visit your nearest The Right Time health center and make an appointment. Preventative visits are more than a quick check, they’re a chance to ask questions, and stay on top of your health.
- Make STI testing a part of your routine. STI testing is a normal and important part of taking care of your sexual health.
- Think about your birth control. Is your current method still working for your life? Your needs can change based on your schedule, relationships, or health goals. If something feels off, or just not ideal, it might be worth exploring other options that fit your life better right now.
- Check in on your mental health. Stress, burnout, anxiety, and mood changes are all part of your overall well-being. Whether it’s talking to a provider, reaching out to someone you trust, or just noticing how you’ve been feeling lately, checking in on your mental health is important.
Regardless of how you choose to celebrate Women’s Health Week, take care of yourself in ways that feel doable and supportive for both now and the long-term.
